The events in Legend of Zagor take place in the world of Amarilliaalthough a magical link to Titan does exist. After Zagor's death, rumours circulated in Allansia that Zagor had sired a son and heir. It is not clear what is the year in which the events of Return to Firetop Mountain transpire. In this book, the player has to find four golden Dragon fangs in order to counter the Elementals that Zagor will summon before fighting by himself.Īfter having all his Elementals overpowered, he surprisingly challenges his opponent to a fair fight with nothing but a dagger for weapon, but as in the first instance, it is heavily implied that even this death is not a final one. The local villagers hire the player to go and kill Zagor for the second time. He kidnaps people to rebuild his decayed body and causes a pestilence in the city of Kaad. Zagor is revived thanks to a resurrection spell he cast before the events transpiring in The Warlock of the Firetop Mountainand plans to invade Allansia. In this story, his true Evil was emphasized as he went on spreading fear and misery all over the region and "gaining" much of his treasure by stealing it from the local villagers. The plot of the book occurs ten years after Zagor's death. The player can either use a magic gemstone to destroy him without a fight, or burn his magic cards to weaken him drastically and defeat him more easily. However, having an army of monsters at his disposal shows that he can't be regarded as benevolent. Paradoxically, in this issue Zagor can be seen as the victim who stands up for his life. It is just known that he rules the mountain and the monsters living there and that he owns an immense treasure that the character of the book is willing to steal. Despite his evil nature, Zagor gave some helpful assistance to the Good hero Chadda Darkmane during the Trolltooth Warsafter the latter entered Firetop Mountain. Whatever the reason, he recruited an army of monsters and retook the mountain domain from the Dwarfs. Then he visited Gerlekus again, murdered him with a dagger, and then absconded with his father's fortune. However, at age eight, Gerlekus sent his son to the Flatlands to learn dark magic. Zagor was initially raised in wealthy surroundings in Zengis. There are stories that suggest Gerlekus Zagor was a necromancer whose ambition was to produce an heir whose mother was of Demonic origins.
Gallan had made vast sums of money from the practice of sorcery and had been the first of the Zagors to move into Firetop Mountaindriven by a need to protect his hoard. According to the sage Ellagrim Grimalkin of FangZagor's first name is Oldoran, a name reminiscent of the ancient name for ZengisGoldoranthe town of his birth. Zagor was powerful enough to terrorize two different worlds Titan and Amarillia.
